February 20, 2013 Abraham John "A.J." Aikins of Verdigris, 65, passed away February 16, 2013 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. He was born December 13, 1947 in Monticello, FL to Ethel (Perry) and Abraham D. Aikins. A.J. served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He married Elizabeth Lucille (Wallace) January 23, 1971 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Malverne, NY. A long time accountant and marketing executive, he was an excellent athlete who played basketball at Hofstra University on scholarship. A.J. also excelled in tennis and golf. "Pop-Pop" absolutely adored his grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife Liz, A.J. is survived by his son Brian Aikins and his wife Crystal; mother Ethel Aikins; sisters: Patricia Aikins, Deborah Aikins Balogh and her husband David;
brothers: Donald Aikins and his wife Grandy, Wilbur Aikins and his wife JoAnne, Alfred Aikins and his wife LaVerne, and Tyrone Aikins and his wife Teresa; grandchildren: Brian, Brandon and Braylen Aikins.
