Bonita Rutherford

Bonita Kay Rutherford, 71, resident of Catoosa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, August 17th, 2018 at her home with her family close by. Bonita, known to most everyone as Kay, was born May 29, 1947 in Claremore, Oklahoma, the daughter of Virgil and Jewell (Watts) Baker. A lifetime resident of Catoosa, she attended Catoosa Schools and was a 1965 graduate of Catoosa High School. Kay was a Registered Nurse, working as ICU charge nurse at OSU Medical Center, when she retired in 1996.
Her family remembers her as a wonderful, fun-loving, adventurous, mother who loved to travel and play the guitar. She will be missed by all who knew her. Kay was preceded in death by her parents: Virgil and Jewell Baker. Kay leaves to cherish her memory, many survivors including her husband Alvie Rutherford of Catoosa, Oklahoma; two sons and daughters-in-law: Joe and Michelle Miller of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Alvie Rutherford, Jr. and Ann of Verdigris, Oklahoma; one sister and brother-in-law: Vickie and Kenny Brown of Catoosa, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Cody Miller, Eli Rutherford, and Jessica Rutherford; one great-grandchild: Tanner Miller; one niece Hope Hosey; one nephew:
Rusty Brown; and one grand-niece: Alyssa Hosey; as well as many other relatives and friends.
