Jessie Lomax

October 2, 1953 — December 29, 2019

On Sunday, December 29, 2019, Jessie Ruth (Silkey) Lomax, a Tulsa resident, passed away at the age of 66. Ruth was born on October 2, 1953 in Tulsa, OK to Charles Stanley and Jessie Nadine (Thomas) Silkey. Ruth graduated from Hominy High School in 1972. Ruth raised two sons, John Daniel Lomax and Karl Wayne Lomax. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

More than anything she loved spending time with her family. She never wanted presents, just to have her whole family together. She always made time to support everything they did by attending all plays, concerts, graduations, and games (even if they are over 40 and still playing soccer).

She loved God and her church family at Open Door Fellowship. She worked for St. John’s Hospital for 33 years. She started in the answering service department and retired as a CME Coordinator. Her hobbies included reading, going to church, going on road trip adventures (especially to Branson to see Mickey Gilley), watching old western and Hallmark movies, and spending time with family and friends.

She left behind her sons: Daniel (Stephanie) Lomax, Karl (Whitney) Lomax; grandchildren: Sydney Lomax, Lacey Lomax, and Konner Lomax; step-grandchildren: Ashleigh Robinson, Alex Robinson, Amerie Kraft, Andrew Kraft, and Alivia Macon; siblings: Stephen (Diane) Silkey, Elisabeth Rachel Silkey, and David Mark Silkey; sister-in-law: Sheila Sonzzini Ferreira; 10 nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents: Jessie Nadine Silkey and Charles Stanley Silkey; sisters: Miriam Rebecca Farris and Mary Martha Silkey; and brother: Stanley Paul Silkey. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be Friday, January 10, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Open Door Fellowship, in Sapulpa, OK
