Phyllis Baker

Phyllis Lorrine Baker born July 29, 1931 in Tulsa County at 2419 N. Atlanta Place to WR and Bessie Carl Baker. She departed at her home in Chelsea, OK with family at her side to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon January 16th 2016. Phyllis was a stay at home mom raising four boys and then later went to work after her children finished school. She was employed at MillCreek Lumber, Catoosa Nursing Home, and retired in 1992 from Daco Construction Inc. Growing up she was raised on the Ewing Halsell Ranch at Cedar Bluff Dairy near 31st S. HWY 169 until she married in February 1948 at age 17. She was an avid horse lady, giving riding lessons and leading rides at Mohawk Park at age 16. Phyllis and Paul liked dancing, going to the lake, camping and trail riding. Phyllis loved making crocheted clothes for Indian dolls and was quite the quilt maker. Phyllis loved spending time with her family fishing, having picnics, having grandchildren over and hosting holiday dinners. Phyllis loved her church and Sunday school friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Paul Cecil Baker of Chelsea, Ok, her father WR and her mother Bessie Mae Baker of Tulsa , sisters Martha Horton and Wilma Lamoncica of Catoosa, and Delmer Baker of Sequoyah, and her daughter-in-law Valerie Baker. She is survived by her sister Mary Poucher of Florida and her brother Lawerence Baker and sister-in-law Betty of Grove OK., and her four sons Alan, Terry, Jay, Jimmy, and their families:
Alan Wayne Baker and wife Vicki Dee of Chelsea, OK and their family, daughters Stephanie Baker and Erika Dill and husband Josh and great grandchildren Wyatt and Lindsay Dill of Pryor. Son Augustus Baker and his wife Jessica of Claremore, Ok., daughter Amy Crummett of Coweta and great grandchildren Natali Patrick and Maci Crummett of Coweta, and Chelsi Carter and her husband Travis Carter and great great granddaughters Jaydee and Raelyn of Chelsea, OK.
Terry Dean Baker and wife Angel King Baker and their son Jason Baker and his wife Holly and great grandchildren Ciera and Avery Painter, Eden Gordan, Jaxon and Kason Baker of Oologah OK. Daughter Jamie Baker Dillard and great grandchildren Azya and Quention Skinner, Malakai and Makailib Dillard of Verdigris, OK. Daughter Sasha Van-Dyke and husband Chris and their daughter Laina of Tulsa, OK.
Jay Randell Baker and fiancé Teresa Martin of Chelsea, OK and their children, Kyle Baker and great grandson Wyatt Baker of Collinsville, OK. Kayla Baker Shelton her husband Justin and great granddaughter Remi Shelton of Chelsea, OK.
Jimmy Dale Baker of Catoosa and his family, Daughter Jessica McConnell and her husband Brad and great grandchildren Reid and Molly of Catoosa, OK. Daughter Megan Sakewicz and husband Joe and great grandchildren Dalaney and Easton of Catoosa OK. Son Evan Baker and wife Jessica Baker and great granddaughter Brynlee of Chelsea OK.
