Reba Markham-Gibson

March 7, 1957 — August 30, 2015

Reba was born in Platte, South Dakota. She was the third of four children of Maurice W. Markham and Delores B. McBath-Thomas. Reba lived in Oklahoma the majority of her life, but also lived in Arkansas, Chicago, Idaho and Oregon. She worked as a court reporter in the courts and as a freelancer for the majority of her adult life. She has a large extended family in Oklahoma, Illinois, Oregon and Washington.
Reba has a daughter, Heather, who lives in Virginia. She was tremendously proud of Heather as a person and her artistic talent. Reba is survived by her mother, who resides in La Grande, Oregon and her two sisters, Melody Wilcox and Renee Sullateskee.
Reba was so special and unique and is loved by so many. She was well known for her love of dogs and her compassion for all animals. Reba loved writing children's books and won the Tulsa Library Award for The Most Beautiful Snowflake. Her family is so very proud of her accomplishments and who she was as a person. She will be missed more than words can express. Those who love her find peace in knowing that she is with her beloved brother, Mark, who passed in May of 2008. Rest in Joy and Perfect Peace, Sweet Reba. You are so loved.
