Tressie Porterfield

November 20, 2012 Tressie Pearl McMillan Jennings Porterfield passed from this life on November 14, 2012 in Claremore, OK at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 21 days. She was born on March 24, 1922 in Catoosa, OK to William and Maggie (Arledge) Remington. Tressie spent her life raising her family and enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was always busy. Tressie loved learning new things and took a particular interest in harvesting and shelling pecans. She eventually passed this knowledge down to her children and grandchildren who still harvest pecans today. Tressie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and we will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Maggie Remington; 3 sisters; husbands, Benson McMillan, Leon Jennings and Hobart Porterfield; and one great-grandson, Ethan McMillan. Tressie is survived by her children, Ronald McMillan and wife Evelyn, June York and husband Bill and Jimmie McMillan; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-
grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Timber Ridge Assembly of God in Catoosa with Interment following at Timber Ridge Cemetery in Catoosa, OK.
